This week on the podcast, I am joined by Dave Calarco and Stephen Tuzeneu to discuss the evolution … er … Story of the Ghost. Similar to the Mike’s episode, we take you on a journey from the birth of Ghost, track how it evolved in 1.0, and touch on the unfortunate treatment it has seen (mostly) in 3.0. I wish I could joke about only having a few clips, but that would be ridiculous as we have MORE CLIPS THAN ANY EPISODE BEFORE. Have no fear, we guarantee you will enjoy and leave with a nugget of knowledge about this fan favorite.
I feel like I’ve never told you, thanks for listening.
- Steve

This was a great show. Is there any chance in the future that you could do an episode on the de evolution of Wading in the Velvet Sea?

This show validates a lot of my feelings about the lack of general evolution in 2.0 and 3.0; as a result, 95-00 Phish is just that much more interesting and never gets old. I hate feeling like a museum and reflecting on Phish “back in the day”, but that’s the way it is. Here’s to hoping 2012 busts things wide open!

12.31.10 is an incredible Ghost! Trey just rips it.

be great if you added the song names/dates of your sound clips in your summary of the episode like you used to, I always go back and try to relisten to the whole thing. Even if you just posted it in a comment.

Yes, this please!

I can start doing that again. I stopped in fear there would be “spoilers”.
Maybe I’ll add the list to comments the following week.
Thanks.

What’s interesting about some of those early summer ’97 shows is that it was before the days of live Phishand before the days of getting shows instantly. That sound was so new and different and you couldn’t really hear it until you saw them live or waited a month or so for tapes.
