Episode 62: YEMSG 2012

Listen to Episode 62

“So you’ve got the four of us tonight. Josh, Chris, and myself were in attendance at MSG for all four nights and Brian did couch tour proper. We have all done our homework, listened back, gave it a few days. You know, the thing with Type II Cast is we can’t put out an episode right after the run. We have to digest, go through the clips, things have to be cut and put on the editing room floor. For tonight’s format, what we are gonna be doing is, we are gonna start off with the whole view of our thoughts on the run in 2012 and deconstruct from there.”  (from the episode’s intro)

Thanks for listening. Happy New Year to all the Type II listeners out there! Stay tuned throughout the off season for a variety of fun topics.

- Steve

Barefoot Bob:

On a somber note, our community lost a special person with the passing of Robert (@BarefootBob2) Eckhart from cancer, on January 7th, 2013.  Bob’s spirit lives on and he will be dearly missed by all those who knew him and got to spend time with him.  Bob leaves behind a wife and 2 sons.  Part of what makes Phish and the community who follow them so special is that when times seem darkest we band together to make a difference.  Those wishing to make a contribution to Bob’s family can do so here or visit the phish.net forum here and finally you can visit Bob’s CaringBridge page here. If you were here and Bob were there, he’d always meet you in between.  Remain in Light, Bob. We will miss you and remember you fondly.

Our Condolences to the Eckhart Family.

  4. At this moment I am going away to do my breakfast, when having my breakfast coming yet again to read further news.

  5. Thanks so much for the podcast! I’m just chiming in like the other dude to let you know you’re appreciated. I am excited to see the next topic. If you take fan suggestions I think a show about Japan 2000 would be interesting. Have a great weekend!

  6. Another fantastic episode, thanks so much for all of your hard work in putting together this podcast. One question however – the Little Drummer boy thing had to be completely planned by the band correct? It’s not entirely clear, but Brian seems to suggest this could have been an unplanned/organic “tease”. I love and respect Phish’ ability to think on their feet, but I have to believe this was fairly choreographed.
